Silvana Sintow-Behrens

Silvana Sintow-Behrens was born into a musical family and grew up in the major cities of the international classical music world. She received piano and singing lessons from childhood and went on to study Musicology as well as Theatre Arts. After graduating from the London Theatre School she performed as an actress in London and Edinburgh. Owing to the career of her mother, soprano Anna Tomowa-Sintow, she was immersed into the operatic world at a very early age. She developed her fluency in seven languages and gathered extensive insights into the business and artistic side of the musical arts.

She started her career as a public relations manager of the record company BMG Classics/RCA in London, which put her in charge of artists such as Evgeny Kissin, Barry Douglas, James Galway and Yuri Temirkanov. She was subsequently hired by the French record company Erato Disques (Warner) and appointed Director of International Promotions and Artist Development in Paris.

There she also became Daniel Barenboim's personal PR, which she later continued to carry out for Teldec Classics/Warner in Berlin. In addition, she planned and coordinated his recording projects with the Chicago Symphony, the Berlin Philharmonic as well as the Staatskapelle Berlin. She was also in charge of attending singers such as Placido Domingo, Cecilia Bartoli, Thomas Hampson, Ferruccio Furlanetto among many others. At the same time, she led the Erato office at the Salzburg Summer Festival.

As the founder and director of Classicalia International Promotions and Management she works with singers, conductors and instrumentalists in establishing and developing their careers. Parallel to her Munich-based agency, Silvana Sintow-Behrens served as artistic advisor for 11 years to the Athens Concert Hall, Megaron. She was also Daniel Barenboim's personal assistant at Teatro alla Scala in Milan until the end of his tenure in December 2014 and has worked with him in Berlin as well as for the West Eastern Divan Orchestra in Sevilla.

In addition to leading her agency, which has represented some of the finest singers and conductors for over two decades, Silvana Sintow-Behrens enjoys working with talented young artists. Through vocal auditions and coaching in career development, she is able to share her vast experience in the international music scene and the demands and requirements for a successful artistic career.
